22 June 2007
Liverpool agents Hitchcock, Wright & Partners (HWP) has announced that quality coffee chain Costa Coffee has taken nearly 2,000 sq ft of space for a brand new retail unit in the Grade 1 listed Britannia Pavilion in Liverpool’s famous Albert Dock.
The new store – that is scheduled to open to the public on 6th July 2007 – is in an ideal location close to the new Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool and adjacent to the famous Beatles Story Museum.
With an interior space of 1,430 sq ft (allowing room for 60 covers) and boasting a 500 sq ft outside seating area, the new store will be unlike any other Costa Coffee store as it will have a unique, bespoke design to ensure that it is sympathetic with the historic surroundings of the Albert Dock.
The opening of the Britannia Pavilion store is part of a multi store roll out that HWP has facilitated on behalf of Optimum Coffee – owners of the Costa Coffee franchise in Merseyside – that includes new stores in Ormskirk; Allerton Road, Liverpool; Foundation, Brownlow Hill & Cavendish Walks, Huyton.
John Barker, retail agent from Hitchcock, Wright & Partners said,
“HWP has worked with Optimum Coffee for the last two years to negotiate the space for the new Costa Coffee stores and we are very pleased to see that the Albert Dock store, in particular, will be coming to fruition very soon. It is in a fantastic location and has the potential to be very successful.”
Dave Connor from Optimum Coffee said, “This location within the Albert Dock will provide one of the most visually appealing Costa’s in the NorthWest and with the surrounding developments and current attractions we are confident this will become a thriving site for what will be our Flagship Costa store.”
Graham Cook from The Albert Dock Company said,
“We are delighted to welcome Costa Coffee to the Albert Dock in a unit on Britannia Pavilion. Costa Coffee will be a great asset to add to the tourism and leisure offer at the Albert Dock and we look forward to their imminent operation”
