20 Chapel Street Liverpool confirms its position as Liverpool’s financial centre as Barclays and Barclays Wealth are next to Sign Up
31 March 2008
Barclays and Barclays Wealth have taken the entire eleventh floor of Liverpool’s 20 Chapel Street building in a unique move that sees the two businesses take floor space together in the same building for the first time.
The 8,000sq ft letting has secured yet another major financial institution for Rumford Investment’s award winning 20 Chapel Street building, with Barclays and Barclays Wealth joining current tenants Bank of Ireland, Broadway Malyan, Ernst & Young and Panmure Gordon.
The office fit-out is already underway and Barclay’s and Barclays Wealth expect to be ready for business from their new 20 Chapel Street premises in May.
Acting on behalf of Rumford Investments the agents on the scheme were Hitchcock, Wright & Partners and DTZ who have achieved a rent of £20 per sq ft. Mason Owen acted on behalf of Barclays and Barclays Wealth.
Situated on the waterfront on Liverpool’s World Heritage Site, Rumford Investment’s 16 storey 20 Chapel Street tower was completed in 2007 and supplies the City with 150,000 sq ft of high quality, Grade A office space.
Brian Ricketts, Partner at agents Hitchcock, Wright and Partners said:
“This is another impressive letting at what is rapidly becoming Liverpool’s premier financial centre. The position and quality of the building is superb and at the very heart of Liverpool’s business district”.
