Hitchcock, Wright & Partners helps Resurrection become the finest vintage on Bold Street
19 November 2008
Liverpool agents Hitchcock, Wright & Partners (HWP) has spoken today about the deals that they successfully brokered on behalf of their client Resurrection that have enabled the indi fashion and vintage clothing retailer to significantly expand its business this year, leading to the recent opening of its new 11,000 sq. ft. store on Bold Street.
Resurrection started life with two units in the former Quiggins store on School Lane. However, when forced to relocate from Quiggins after 15 years due to the regeneration plans for Liverpool One, Resurrection owner Rob Pritchard decided that it was the ideal opportunity to expand.
Resurrection needed more space but in a location that would suit it's independent, edgy and individual brand.
Following on from a deal with landlords Legal & General, HW&P successfully found Resurrection its very first stand alone shop - a 2,800 sq. ft. store right within the very heart of Liverpool's bohemian Bold Street area at 25 Bold Street.
With the demand for vintage clothing surging, thanks in part to its popularity amongst celebrities such as supermodel Kate Moss, Resurrection's business boomed, urging on the need for an even larger retail requirement.
HWP stepped in again and brokered a deal, this time with Merepark, to position Resurrection in what is now its new three storey, 11,000 sq. ft. store, at 17-19 Bold Street. The new store - that opened just one month ago – has an enviable position above and below the popular Costa Coffee outlet and boasts top floor glazing, exposing Resurrection's imaginative window displays to maximum effect.
John Barker, retail agent from Hitchcock, Wright & Partners said,
"HWP has worked with Resurrection for the last three years to negotiate space for their new stores as their business has grown.
We have been able to structure deals for each of their new ventures that have enabled them to grow at a pace that has suited their needs. Location was a key factor to Resurrection’s success and their current fantastic location on Bold Street has the potential to be very successful."
The new location will also take advantage of the new walk through area that is planned by Merepark/Ballymore's Central Village leisure, hotel & retail scheme that also incorporates Lewis’s.
Rob Pritchard, owner of Resurrection said:
"We are so pleased with everything that HWP has done for us over the time that they have been advising us, not least with securing us such a great location for our new store at 17-19 Bold Street. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect position.
John knew exactly what we needed in Liverpool in terms of the best location for our customer base and HWP's skill in judgement has enabled us to expand the extent that business is booming and we are now also considering opening another store, hopefully very soon."
