Award-Winning Piccadilly Partnership Signs Up More New Partners

It's been a great month for the Piccadilly Partnership. Not only has the public/private sector partnership been successful in adding to its growing group of partners but it has also won a prestigious regeneration award for its pioneering approach and tangible results.

"The Partnership is delighted to win the North West Insider Regeneration Award 2006 and welcome the recognition that the Piccadilly Partnership's approach is one that is rapidly becoming a benchmark for successful partnership." - Piccadilly Partnership Chief Executive Jo Farrell

Newest recruits to the Piccadilly Partnership are Maghull Developments, the Bank of New York and a number of independent retailers including Kro, Manna, BeachStop, Moon Bar, the B Lounge, the Cotton House, and Barburitto.

This latest group joins a growing number of supporters who have pledged their commitment to the Piccadilly Partnership, including Argent, Bruntwood, Albany Assets, Inacity, Manchester City Council, Manchester City Centre Management Company, and the GMPTE, who are all undertaking major developments and projects in the immediate area.

The wide range of businesses that have joined up is symbolic of the vibrant mix of the Piccadilly community, and the Partnership's success in connecting landowners, independent retailers, professional businesses and key delivery agencies to work together to revitalise the Piccadilly area is in the £1.2 billion that will be invested in the area by 2010, changing the Piccadilly skyline and street level for good.

The property industry has recognised this success by awarding the Piccadilly Partnership the coveted North West Insider Regeneration Award 2006 at the prestigious Insider Awards Dinner on 11 May 2006. This is given to the organisation that has used development to make the most significant contribution to the regeneration of the region's towns and cities.

Speaking about the new partners and the award, Piccadilly Partnership Chief Executive Jo Farrell said: "We are really delighted to have the support of such a varied range of sectors from across the Piccadilly area - from the independent retailers through to the commercial developers and professional businesses, the wide range of partners that are supporting the Partnership is indicative of the diversity and vibrancy present in Piccadilly. "We see Piccadilly at the heart of Manchester and the aim of the Partnership is to provide an inclusive and cohesive voice for the Piccadilly area of Manchester to promote the remarkable changes and improvement in the quality of its public realm, residential, retail and commercial provision and sustain this for the future."
